Day 9
PROVISION:
Missions
God has given us two great assignments. The Great Commandment and the Great Commission. The first is to make loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength the central focus of our lives. The Great Commission is to “go into all the world and make disciples of every nation.” A disciple is a follower of Jesus. As a church, we support missions efforts both here at home and around the globe.
Romans 10:13-15
For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
Pray that God would continue to provide for the missionaries all around the world. That they could continue to feel the love and support of the church body through their prayers and financial generosity.
Pray that God would give our missionaries and missions organizations wisdom and guidance as they communicate His message in other cultures, and that their ministries would be effective.
Pray that God would protect our missionaries and their families.
Pray that God would minister to the kids of our missionaries as they undergo a unique set of challenges.
Pray for those that are hearing God’s message. That their hearts are soft and receptive to His message.
Pray that God would raise up great leaders in each country that can effectively lead the local church.
Pray for the poor, hurting, displaced, and the persecuted - that God would give them comfort and healing.
